Best Bambu Lab printer for beginners & kids

We print keyrings and party favours on Bambu Lab machines every week, so families often ask us: which one should we actually buy first? Here's our honest take, in plain English.

The quick answer

If you want one recommendation: start with the Bambu Lab A1 mini. It's the most affordable, it's quiet enough to sit in a kitchen or bedroom, it mostly sets itself up, and it's the easiest for a child to use with a grown-up nearby. You can always upgrade later.

The three to consider

A1 mini — best for first-timers & kids

Small, cheapest, very easy. Perfect for keyrings, toys, party favours and little models. Smaller print area, but that's plenty for most family projects. Our pick for beginners.

A1 — best all-rounder

Same friendly, open design as the mini but with a bigger print bed, and it pairs with the AMS Lite for easy multi-colour prints. Great if you've caught the bug and want more room and colour.

P1S — best for serious/enclosed printing

A fully enclosed printer that's faster and handles tougher materials better. More than most families need to start, but a brilliant "we're really into this now" upgrade.
